Buying a Property

Before buying, you’ll need to consider the contract, investigate and structures and arrange finance
The contracts are exchanged, a settlement date is set and a deposit is typically paid
Between exchange and settlement, further investigations and searches are carried out, stamp duty is paid, finance is arranged and a final inspection carried out
The settlement day arrives and the sale is completed, with settlement funds distributed to the vendor (seller)

Selling a Property

Before putting your property on the market, a contract must be prepared
The contract must include certain information, attachments and can include special conditions
When you find a buyer, the contracts are exchanged, a settlement date is set and a deposit is typically paid
Preparations to settle are completed, including any discharge of mortgage over the property and payout figures for the sale
The settlement day arrives and the sale is completed, with settlement funds distributed as you direct
